Sentinel Meadow Cook's Meadow Loop Trail is an easy hike with iconic Sierra scenery and some of the best views of Yosemite from a great vantage point.
This short, easy walk provides some of the best views of several iconic Yosemite landmarks from the valley floor. If you complete the entire loop, expect to see Yosemite Falls from the Swinging Bridge, Half Dome from Sentinel Bridge (a popular spot at sunset), and the historic Yosemite Chapel. And if you’re visiting in early summer, the meadows will be awash with wildflowers.
It’s the perfect introduction to the park and would make for a great warmup before catching the shuttle to the trailhead of a more challenging hike. You can also take a detour and complete the short Lower Yosemite Falls Trail for even more breathtaking views of the falls. Parking can be found nearby throughout the entire trail. There are several bathrooms throughout the route and Yosemite Lodge is just off the trail if you’re looking for food or drinks.
