Texas Spring campground is tucked among badlands and hills that offer great views during sunrise and sunset. It is located across the road from Furnace Creek resort, general store and gas station, and close to many of Death Valley's famous places of interest such as Zabriskie Point, Badwater Basin, Artist's Palette etc.
This is one of the best campgrounds in Death Valley that gives you the true experience of camping in the middle of a desert. The campground is surrounded with badlands and hills where you can climb to explore and see a panoramic view of mountains all around.
Texas Spring campground offers 92 sites in two loops. Lower loop is reserved for tents only, and the upper loop is for tents and RVs (no hookups). Every site has picnic tables and fire rings available for use. In the lower loop, you can find few shaded spots but other than that the campsite does not provide any shade.
This is a seasonal campsite so it is only open from October 15-May 10, but check the link before you head out.
It is first come-first serve campground so you don't need to make any reservation.
IMPORTANT TIP TO FOLLOW:
STAKE DOWN YOUR TENT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE!
The ground is hard at the campground and time-to-time it can get very windy. If you can't stake your tent to the ground, place heavy rocks inside of your tent to make sure that you will find your tent where you left it.
Enjoy the starry nights with a glass of wine next to your camp fire.
