This one was SO cool!! I have been fascinated by geology and geological formations since I was a kid, and this loop was magical. There were at least 3 bison in the area, and a lovely park ranger who kept folks safe and informed, and who very kindly cleared part of the trail when two of those bison began to get aggressive with each other. So so so cool! It's pretty easy if not a little bit steep in some spots, but well worth it to see the mud pots, springs, mud volcano and bison.
A little busy, but not crowded. People obeyed signs and listened to the ranger. Only downside was that someone had tossed a full/used dog ...
