About this place

Added by Carolyn Hoyt

Hidden Falls Loop is a fun day hike to a hidden waterfall and swimming hole near Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Directions: From Laramie, take I-80 east to exit 323 and continue on HWY 210 east for approximately 15 miles. From there the entrance to Curt Gowdy State Park will be clearly marked on the right side of the road. Then drive south for 1.4 miles until you reach a large parking area on the right side. Don't forget to pay your daily parking fee!

The Trail: The trail can be as long or short as you want with varying degrees of difficulty depending on the trail chosen. The most direct route starts by following the shoreline trail from the parking lot a quick few hundred yards until you come to the Crow Creek trailhead. You can continue on Crow Creek trail through the woodlands and all the way to the falls, or from there you can continue on up, following the creek down below until you come to the Mo'Rocka Trail. The trails are well marked at junctions so don't worry about getting off course. Mo'Rocka Trail will also get you to the falls, it will just be a longer journey providing more scenic rock formations and higher elevation gains. This loop is also a popular choice for the local mountain bikers.

The Falls: The trail ends when you can hear the water rushing over the rocks and see the falls hidden under the rocks. You can venture right into the falls by taking your shoes off and venturing over for a quick swim. The fresh water will feel refreshing after your nice journey.

For best views of falls, go in spring after snow melt
