Ayres Natural Bridge

Who doesn't love natural bridge formations?! I know I do! I always try to seek them out every time I hit the road for one of my photography road trips.

...Ayers Natural Bridge Park is a very well maintained and beautiful public park at the bottom of a red-rock canyon. It's about 15 minutes from Douglas, and is about 5 miles off the I-25. When entering the park, you'll pass an old power house on your left that was originally built in the early 1900's. From there, you'll see a small camping/parking area where you can park your vehicle. If you're not camping, drive another 60 feet to a larger lot that'll take you on a short walk to the natural bridge. There's a trail that'll take you to the top of the bridge, so if you're not afraid of heights, definitely take the time to experience that. The park is a popular location for picnics, weddings, family get-togethers, photography and other miscellaneous outdoor events. The park is also FREE to enter!

Just a little extra information on the park...LaPrele Creek flows just beneath the natural bridge, making this only 1 of 3 natural rock arches/bridges in the nation with flowing water underneath it. The park occupies 150 acres between the towns of Glenrock and Douglas. The name of the park and bridge are named after the Ayres family who donated the land, which had been part of their ranch. It is also considered one of Wyoming’s first tourist attractions!
