About this place

Added by Matt Johnson

A unique location that provides great scenery, cool landmarks, and a great area for some outdoor exploring.

Holy Hill National Shrine is a landmark within the Wisconsin area, both as a tourist spot and a great location for fall colors. Located outside of Hubertus, WI, it is east of the Kettle Moraine Scene Drive and Cty Rd 167 intersection. Once arriving, there are three parking locations: the top of the hill next to the basilica, the parking lot at the bottom of the hill, or the secondary parking lot at the start of the stations (down Stationway Road).

If you'd like to walk the Stations in order, starting at the secondary parking lot would be ideal. The walk takes you past all 12 stations, and ends at the foot of the basilica. Once there, there are two churches, multiple shrines, and a couple of prominent alter areas. Towards the right side of the building, from the 1st floor, the scenic tower can be accessed. The "climb" is 178 steps long with narrow walkways, but worth to check out.

(The scenic tower is closed during winter months, check schedule for specific dates): https://www.holyhill.com/

Late fall
I went later in the fall last year. It was a little breezy and the leaves had already fallen but it still beautiful and no crowds.
