Another Wisconsin State Natural Area worth exploring. Amazing views of the river once you get up on the top, this spot is perfect for sunrise!
Five miles west from Sauk City lies another great natural area. According to the official website, it is about a 25-minute drive from Devil’s Lake State Park.
There are a few trails you can take here at this park, they go up all of the bluffs in the area, the most popular one is Cactus Bluff. Follow Ferry Bluff Road all the way to the end to reach the parking lot (Google maps to Ferry Bluff Parking Area).
From the parking lot, follow trail signs for the "Overlook Trail" to see this stunning view. It is only 0.37 miles long but don't let that fool you, this hike has some climbing to it.
This is the main lookout area and this is 300 ft high. You will be rewarded with breathtaking Wisconsin views here, so pack a camera and a snack.
