Hike to the top of the historic Bald Bluff in Palmyra, Wisconsin for scenic views of the Kettle Moraine and beautiful wildflowers. If you're up for the challenge, continue on towards the Stone Elephant rock formation.
Parking
There is a small parking lot off of County Rd H. The trailhead is marked at the back of the lot. Please be advised that there are no facilities here.
Trail Description
The Bald Bluff Trail starts at the trailhead marked behind the parking lot. From there, the trail traverses 0.5 miles up to the top of Bald Bluff, offering great views of the Kettle Moraine. This trail falls along a segment of the National Scenic Ice Age Trail in southern Wisconsin. Therefore, hikers can continue east on the trail towards Stone Elephant- a rock formation roughly one mile from the lookout. The terrain between the lookout and Stone Elephant is quite rocky and hilly so be sure to watch your step. Roughly 1.6 miles on the trail there will be a sign marking Stone Elephant. From here, you can go down to the rock formation and take a break, continue on the trail for another 2.4 miles until you reach Tamarack Rd, or turn around and go back to the parking lot.

Fees, Facilities, and Regulations
Bald Bluff Trail does require a fee for entry. There are no facilities at this trailhead. Users who are 16 years and older are required to carry a trail pass with them as well.
