This quarry has unique features only found at this lake in the Milwaukee Area. Crystal Clear water and rocky cliffs 10 ft above the water! There is a beach, plenty of small 5-10 ft. cliffs to jump off of and swim, there is fishing and a large pier here.
Hiking around this lake at all times of the year is fun. You can park by the beach on any side of the lake and you are greeted with breathtaking views of Menomonee Park's pond, or "Lannon Quarry" as others have called it.
It will take you about 30 minutes to hike the whole thing if you are exploring the entire lake, see my photos for a map of the lake. Make sure you walk all the way out onto the Peninsula on the north side of the lake for a great view of the surrounding water and beach!
This park is part of the Waukesha County Park System so they do charge entry per vehicle ($6 as of 2018). They are not always on duty, so it is on the honor system some nights.
The surrounding path on the lake is usually flooded throughout the year, so bring shoes you don't mind getting wet! It does make for some fun reflection shots if you are coming here with a camera!
