One of the best campsites you can get in the state of Wisconsin, completely surrounded by Lake Michigan.
Peninsula State Park is a sought after campground in the state of Wisconsin, usually booked months in advance. This is where you have to put in the work. You book your campsites through the main state park website here.
Now if you're a bit of a rebel, there are ALWAYS walk-in campsites available, but if you're coming from Milwaukee, why risk a 3 hour drive over a "maybe"?
These campsites are all drive-in, and the best ones are located right on the shores of Green Bay of Lake Michigan (the body of water, not the city!).
Every weekend they put on a theater show here at the campground as well, you have to pay for it, but it is well worth your time.
This will be one of the greatest camping experiences you will have in the state of Wisconsin, it will most likely be on the top of your list if you end up coming here at least once!
The map will lead you to South Nicolet Bay Campground, but there are several campgrounds in the park to choose from. Explore the Peninsula State Park website to find your ideal site.
