Beautiful northern Wisconsin recreational area that offers sand beaches on a clear blue lake within the Highlands forest.
An incredibly popular campsite that surrounds Crystal Lake and that offers access to Muskellunge Lakes. The State Park off County Road N, near Sayner, is great for bike enthusiasts and families looking to dip their paddles into the blue waters.
Prime campsites include high, dry ground with level gravel pads that are lined with maples, aspens and birch. The truly spectacular sites connect to the shoreline of the lake, giving you a launch point for kayaks, rafts and SUPs. Regardless any site is worthy to house your tent or camper, albeit some require tight maneuvering. Reserve your campsite early as they book quickly. The grounds offer restrooms and showers. This lake is for non- motorized vessels only, so perfect for relaxing on your tube. For visitors looking to lounge beachside for the day, purchase a state park day pass for $8 or an annual pass for $28 resident / $38 non-resident for each vehicle.
This campground is also a point along the Boulder Junction bike trails, 50 miles of paved bike trails that venture as far as Mercer and St. Germain. If you don’t want to venture out quite that far, at least be sure to coast through the many trails of the campgrounds.
