Grand Ridge Trail is a quick trip from Seattle. This out-and-back trail is used for hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and equestrian. No pass or permit required.
The trail system in the 1,300 acre Grand Ridge Park can currently can be accessed from two lots: High Point and Central Park, with a new lot at Duthie Hill still under construction.
To get to the High Point lot take exit 20 off of I-90 (coming from Seattle), take a left and pass under the freeway and park in the gravel lot on the left-hand side.
From here the trail starts flat and wide before veering up the hillside and meandering through large cedar trees and ferns. As the elevation levels out, bikers and runners alike will enjoy being able to cruise the gently rolling singletrack. The Grand Ridge trail is an out-and-back and while there are generally maps at the intersections, some are missing so it's wise to carry a map with you.
Another Issaquah hike with plenty of elevation gain is Poo Poo Point.
