Are you looking for a short, accessible, and family friendly hike? Look no further, Lodge Lake in Snoqulamie Pass, Washington is all of that and more!
As you begin your hike up to Lodge Lake you will pass through a small forest. After about .5 miles you will come out into the open. Simply follow the path under the chairlifts as you cut across the mountain. In the summer when there is no snow on the ground you can see lots of wildflowers. If you look closely, you might even be able to spot a few wild strawberry plants!
At about .75 miles you will crest the ridge. Shortly after, the trail will take you by a small pond called Beaver Lake. Continue past the pond through the forest for a little less than a mile. Soon you will find yourself at the beautiful Lodge Lake!
Lodge Lake is the perfect place for kids and dogs to play while parents relax and take in the scenery. There are also a few flat grassy areas on the edge of the lake that are perfect for a picnic! I recently bought a new camera, a Canon t5i, and wanted to go on an easy hike where I could focus on learning how to take pictures. Lodge Lake turned out to lend itself perfectly to this! We arrived at the trailhead at 10:00 a.m. and we were the only car there! There is plenty of room for lots of cars in the parking lot and the short road to the trailhead is suitable for all vehicles.
Overall Lodge Lake is a fantastic option if you are looking for a shorter but still beautiful hike. It is not as popular as some of the other hikes in the North Bend and Snoqualmie Pass area so if you're lucky like I was you may just be one of the only people on the trail!
