Camp at Obstruction Pass State Park

The nine primitive campsites and one Cascadia Marine Trail campsite of Obstruction Pass State Park are the only first come, first serve campsites available on Orcas Island. The campsites themselves overlook a fantastic (and accessible beach) and Obstruction Pass itself.

There are four composting toilets, two in the campground, two at the trailhead), and you must pack in your own water as there is no potable water available at the campsites. The Cascadia Marine Trail campsite is for use by those arriving by human- and wind-powered watercraft only.

To get to Obstruction Pass State Park you have to first get to Orcas Island (via the Washington State Ferries or some other means) and then follow the main Orcas Island Road all the way around to the East Side of the island, staying left onto Point Lawrence Road at the Catkin Cafe then bearing right onto Obstruction Pass Road following the signs to the State Park.

To get to the campsites (if you are not arriving by boat) you can take either the Sound View or Highland trails.

Note: there are no supplies including water available at the campsites.
