About this place

Added by Randy Gordon

Eightmile Lake is an adventure that offers you with an overnight stay at one of the gems of the Enchantments Lakes region in Washington State.

Beginning at the trailhead, fill out a self-issued permit allowing you to stay overnight. Start your trek heading upwards at an elevation of 3300 feet. As you become adapted to the trail, you will start to realize it is maintained and well groomed. In addition, The 1300 feet of elevation gained throughout the 3.3 mile hike are gradual, making for a moderate, leisurely outing.

As you hit the first mile, you will cross the beautiful Pioneer Creek. Rinse your boots, filter some water to refill your bottle and keep on your way. Although the Eightmile-Caroline Region of the Enchantments was devastated by wildfire in recent years, the land has begun to grow back. Do not be deterred, there is still plenty of beauty to witness beyond the burnt ponderosa trees. Fields of purple, green and yellow wildflowers fill your view and surrounding peaks captivate your imagination.

At 2.5 miles you will reach Little Eightmile Lake. This is the perfect time to take in the beauty, grab a snack and refuel for the final push to the lake.

As you approach the lake, survey the surrounding area for a designated camping area. Set up camp and enjoy all the beauty the surrounding area has to offer. With features like Eightmile Mountain and Jack Ridge overlooking the emerald green lake, there is hardly a better place to experience some of the best mother nature has to offer.

Easy Hike, Beautiful Lake
Day hike up to eight mile, would've loved to camp but you need a permit. Lots of wildflowers at the beginning of the trail. ...
