A quiet lake tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, perfect for a day of fishing.
Switzer Lake is a great spot outside of Harrisonburg, Virginia for fly fishing during the spring, summer, and fall. The lake is pretty decently sized, so you shouldn't have any problems finding a place along the shores to wade out and cast. Small boats are also allowed on the lake as well. Make sure you have a valid fishing license and trout stamp (if applicable) as game wardens routinely check-in with anglers that park in the low lot.
The road going down to the parking lot can get bumpy/washed out and although you don't need a 4WD/high clearance vehicle, be advised that you might need to walk the short distance down to the lake (100 yards or so).
