About this place

Added by Alex E

Explore this hidden gem on the secluded and rarely visited Eastern Shore of Virginia.

This beautiful State Park on the Virginia Eastern Shore provides visitors with a very secluded beach even in the dead of summer. The location of the beach also allows you to enjoy a sunset over water which is rare for the east coast. The sandy white beaches dotted with old crab buckets and crab traps is an amazing place for the entire family to enjoy the day or for that romantic stroll on the beach with your significant other. Kiptopeke State Park is great for fishing, crabbing, camping, SUP, kayaking, swimming and hiking trails. Enjoy fresh caught fish and crabs over an open flame while you enjoy one of the best kept secrets on the east coast! Kiptopeke State Park is just across the bay from Virginia Beach, Take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel/US-13 North for roughly 23 miles until you turn left on Kiptopeke Dr which takes you to the park entrance. It is only 4 dollars for a day pass.

Really enjoyed this area for an evening of photography. If you get low, you can find some interesting textures for a foreground.
