About this place

Added by Annelise A

A close-to-town, free rock climbing experience on famous Southern Utah red rock.

Pioneer Park in St. George, Utah offers a few great rock climbing routes, as well as some bouldering problems.

Park in the dirt parking lot then walk straight ahead into the little slot canyons. The marked location will take you to the most popular rock climbing destination in the park with 6 top rope, 1 trad, and 4 sport routes. In the small canyons on either side you'll find a few more climbs, but this canyon has the most. If you're top roping, you'll need to go out and around the canyons to make your way up to the top and set up your anchor.

This location is popular, but you can usually find at least one route that's open. The difficulties range from 5.9–5.11d for climbs and V0-V6 for boulders, so you can find something for all skill levels! Mountain Project has details on exact route names and locations for bouldering.

When you're done, drive the two minutes back to town and get some food—Capriotti's sandwiches are always a favorite.

There are supposedly some easier climbs here, but we must’ve others the hardest one! Very difficult, but cool place to climb!
