About this place

Enjoy peace and quiet and fun climbing just outside of Arches National Park

This area is super quiet and uncrowded and hosts a fun mix of sport and trad climbing. This particular route is bolted, so are most immediately surrounding it.

The route works across a few slabby, mildly spooky moves (slightly run out) at the beginning then cruises up a fun arete to the bolted anchor. Really fun climb!

If you look at the second photo in this Adventure, the route is on the far right of the section of the wall above the ledge. It begins almost directly beneath the arete above. As you can also see from the photos, you can park right beneath the climbing area. It's usually fastest to get there by going 191 to BLM 144 to BLM 145 (as Google Maps will show) but you can also get there by driving through Arches by taking Salt Valley Road from the junction of Arches Scenic Drive and Devils Garden Rd. Salt Valley Road eventually turns into BLM 145. If approaching from within Arches, look for Sunshine Wall on your right. If coming from 191, look to your left.

Gear: ~8 draws (do a count of bolts to be sure) and a .75 cam can be placed between the 1st and 2nd bolt if you want.

The wall gets a lot of sun so if you're there during the summer, hit it early/late. It'll be cold in the winter, but if the rock is dry, go for it.

Check out Mountain Project for more routes in the area.
