About this place

Added by Stephanie Yarbrough

The Monitor-Merrimac Trail is a scenic beginner level mountain bike trail in Moab, UT. It is located on BLM Land (Bureau of Land Management), so it is free to use year round. The trail is a 5.5 mile loop and has about 630’ of elevation gain.

The Monitor-Merrimac Trail is slickrock for the majority of the trail, although there are some sandy areas. If you start the loop going clockwise, you will hit most of the sand going downhill. Also, the most fun part of the trail is on the downhill side if you go clockwise. Going counterclockwise you would miss out on a lot of great biking!

Since this trail is so close to the famous Slickrock Bike Trail, it is not as heavily used. So if you are looking for a good beginner bike trail that is not crowded and is free, check out this trail!

The parking lot to the trail is off of Mill Canyon Road. GPS Coordinates: 38.7256N, -109.7322W
