One of the most acclaimed rides in Moab.10 miles of technical downhill.
This ride is one of the most popular in Moab, let alone the state of Utah. With that said, you probably won't have the trail to yourself so be sure to take time to hangout at the best vista points and chat with the other riders. Although the shuttles try to stagger the drop-offs, there will be riders coming in from the road at various times, so keep an eye out.
Be sure to pack plenty of water and food with you as it can get extremely hot out there and the ride can take longer than expected. Once you're sure you've got the supplies you need, get ready, because this ride provides you with stunning views of Castle Valley as you head along the rim. The climb at the beginning will get you breathing hard as you gain virtually all 1,000 ft in this 3 mile stretch. Once you reach the viewpoint on the rim, catch your breath, grab a little water, and prepare yourself for 10 miles of amazing, but rather technical, downhill.
This ride finishes up near the Negro Bill Canyon Trailhead where you can shuttle into town. Check in with Poison Spider Bikes or Coyotte Shuttle to work out details of your shuttle to and from the trail.
Be advised that this is a really tough and technical ride with dangerous cliffsides. Newer riders can absolutely take it on, but be sure you're with at least one other more experienced rider and, as always, let somebody know where you're headed and when you plan to return.
