About this place

Added by Lee Cuellar

Lots of beautiful arches along the hike towards Navajo Arch. Beautiful red sandstone rock formations. Nice shade to relax during the hike. Duration: 2-4 hours.

In order to get to Navajo Arch, you will have to hike through Devils Garden Trailhead. The hike is relatively easy until you pass Landscape Arch. After that, the trail steadily climbs and you will find yourself scrambling and climbing up slickrock fins. You can stop and admire other well-known arches along te way. After a few miles, you will reach Navajo Arch Spur Trail, which branches from the Devils Garden Primitive Loop about 1.2 miles west of the Devils Garden Trailhead. A left takes you to Partition Arch while continuing straight will take you to Navajo Arch. Continue on the trail towards Navajo Arch.

One of the first things you'll notice is that the arch is surrounded by trees and there is even a pine tree growing under the arch. The trees and arch provide plenty of shade to relax and enjoy the scenery around you. Once you have your fill of Navajo Arch, you could turn back and leave the way you came and continue on towards Double O and Primitive Loop Trail, or go back the way you came from Devils Garden Trailhead.

The arch isn't a great photographic subject but it's still a cool spot to visit.
