Hike Quarry Mountain in Park City

The Quarry Mountain trail is a less-traveled option than the Iron Mountain trail in Park City offering unique views of McPolin Farm to the west, Kimball Junction and Old Ranch Road to the north, Park City to the south, and Promontory Ranch to the East.

The trail starts at the McPolin Farm parking area on the east side Highway 224 (the main road from I-80 to old town Park City) and ends at the top of Quarry Mountain. 

A 2.2-mile round trip out-and-back trail with 740 vertical feet of climbing, Quarry Mountain Trail is about the same distance as the Iron Mountain Trail with 150 fewer vertical feet, which makes the trail less steep.

A mile into the hike, you'll come to a bench some locals crafted from nearby slabs of rock which provides tranquil views of old town Park City. Locals tip, this is a great place to watch the 4th of July Fireworks.

At the top of Quarry Mountain, you can loop around the radio towers and see views of Kimball Junction and Old Ranch Road to the north. 

There are no fees to hike this trail. It's part of the 400 plus mile trail system in Park City and is dog-friendly.
