About this place

Added by Thomas Burton

Babylon Arch is a short, easy hike with little elevation gain. You can hike through the arch and check out wonderful desert rock formations.

Arch Trail to Babylon Arch is a short family friendly hike to the Virgin River and back. The trail is very sandy, which makes climbing hills difficult. The arch is really neat and totally worth the visit.

To get to the trailhead will require 4 wheel drive and if its recently rained I would not recommend going here. From St. George drive north on I-15 for about 14 miles to exit 22. Take Main Street through downtwon Leeds for 2.2 miles to 900 North, there is also a sign for the Red Cliffs Recreation Area. Turn right and follow 900 North about 3.9 miles to the signed Sand Cove Trailhead. You can park here if you'd like for a longer hike or continue on to a primitive campground. To get to the campground, stay left of the Sand Cove parking area and take your first right. Follow that road to the primitive camping area. The trail from here is on the southeast side of the camping area and has a small sign.

The trail is pretty easy to follow but Babylon Arch blends in with the other rock formations. There are signs around it and the GPS coords are 37.201971, -113.336474.
