How to Ditch the Crowds at Donut Falls

How to Ditch the Crowds at Donut Falls

Get the trail of one of Salt Lake City's most popular hikes all to yourself.

It's no secret that Utah is full of ways to enjoy the outdoors. With so many awesome views that are easily accessible, it's also no secret that you will have some company on most of your outdoor excursions. My solution? Snowshoeing at 6am!

My husband and I had the whole trail to ourselves, only passing another group of snowshoers heading the opposite direction. It was so peaceful and quiet, I was able to experience my surroundings in a way I never have before.

Another perk of going in the winter is the natural snow slide that builds up around the cave. It made it a little difficult to get inside the cave, but there was a rope there for assistance. Once we were ready to head out, we just slid all the way down to the trail!

The great thing about Donut Falls is that it's so close and easy to get to, it doesn't really matter when you go, but you should go in the winter at least!
