About this place

Added by Lauren Bonczek

Escape the city to a wonderland within city limits! One of San Antonio's hidden gems.

Just north of 1604, off I10 is Friedrich Wilderness Park. This park, within the city limits of San Antonio, has about 10 miles of hiking trails varying from paved and appropriate for all ages and abilities, to challenging uphills and quick drop offs.

This is just for pedestrian, so if you have a bike, leave it at home. You also can't bring your dog unfortunately. But if you want a quick evening hike after work, or want a nice way to log a few miles on a trail run, this park needs to be your go to!

The Vista Loop trail is accessible off the Main Loop trail. From there, you can re-connect to the Main Loop trail via the Fern Del trail. Although you won't be out there for hours, bring some water. Most of the trails are shady, but this is Texas we're talking about. It's HOT here!

Happy Hiking!

Nice and Easy Trail
A very nice hike. The map is very detailed, it would be hard to get lost! 10/10 would hike again.
