About this place

Added by Erin Newman-Mitchell

The Bull Creek trail is a beautiful trail located in northwest Austin featuring several waterfalls, wildlife watching, and swimming opportunities.

The Bull Creek Trail is an Out-and-Back trail along Bull Creek; it's a pretty beginner to intermediate hike. The trail follows along Bull Creek which runs between the hills of the Austin Hill Country. There are several waterfalls which can be found along the creek. The trail has multiple access points, many of which are located right next to the major waterfalls of the trail. It is not necessary to hike the entire trail to see the waterfalls. There are multiple public (free of charge) parking locations along the creeks as well. The trail is for the most part pretty shaded and makes for a good place to exercise, swim, wildlife watch, and just relax.

The creek is extremely popular for swimming and the areas around the waterfalls are often jam-packed with people during the summer season. The creek does often lose water flow and dry out several times a year.

This trail is very dog and kid-friendly. Make sure to keep dogs leashed and be sure to clean up after them! The access points near the waterfalls are handicap accessible as the terrain is not too unstable/rocky. However, the entire trail is NOT handicap accessible.
