About this place

Added by Nathan Szwarc

An extremely short hike at the Obed Wild and Scenic River Area, great for families or if you just need to get out quickly and see a very nice view.

Honestly this is hard to even call a trail, but that doesn't mean it lacks beauty. Once you take the right or left of off ridge Ridge Road make sure to go past the first parking lot and into the second larger parking lot. The trail starts near the front of the parking lot on the right side of the parking lot next to the board with trail maps and notices. Continue straight on the trail with no turn offs for .3 miles through a hemlock forest until you come to a board walk. Once you have reached the board walk you are here! Feel free to walk around the board walk and see the different views of the river and the surrounding cliffs. Make sure to stay on the boardwalk however because the lichen and moss on the rocks under and around you is extremely sensitive, hence the reason for the boardwalk. This view is particularly fantastic in the fall when the extremely blue water is a great contrast with the fall colors. To return to the parking lot simply walk back out on the exact same way you came in with no turn offs or anything. As always make sure to leave the trail better than you found it.
