This quarry offers amazing swimming and kayaking as well as photography.
This quarry is located near the Ijams Nature Center in South Knoxville. The quarry is right off of Island Home rd and has a large parking lot. The parking lot has about 30 spaces and about 50 spaces in overflow parking. There is a lot activities to do at the quarry. In the summer there is kayak and canoe rental provided by River Sports Outdoors.
Swimming here is allowed year road however the water will get cold around September. During the summer there is on tap beer from the Yee-Haw Brewing Company. Around the quarry there is also a lot of hiking and biking trails. There is even a new mountain biking trail that was built in 2020. This area is great for photography and lots of outdoor activities. You can fish here if you have a state fishing license. There are a lot of giant blue gill and other various sunfish. If you are lucky you might see a fresh water jelly fish but do not worry they can not sting you.
