Natural Bridge Loop

This trail is located in Pickett State Park which is a close neighbor to Big South Fork National Recreation Area. This is one of the many trailheads that connect to the Natural Bridge loop however, this trailhead is the closest to the natural bridge. From the road it is only a few hundred feet walk to the natural bridge. 

The hike to the bottom of the bridge can be considered hard due to its uneven descent but it is traversable if you are careful. The top of the bridge is very easy to get to and is safe to walk on. Make sure to enjoy the view from the top. It is easily one of the better views in Pickett State Park. The bridge itself is very unique and offers a great lesson in how sandstone can be formed into many different things. The bridge is definitely one of the thinner bridges in the area which may make it look unsafe but not to worry it has stood the test of time and will last for thousands of years longer. 

The parking here is rather small so on a busy day it may be too full to visit but it does not hurt to drive by and try. The parking area does offer a nice roadside area for a picnic after hiking.
