About this place

Added by Josh & Michele

Arusha National Park offers walking, driving, and canoeing safaris and is home to the world's largest population of giraffes.

Enter Arusha National Park through Ngurdoto Gate on the South side of the park or through Momela Gate on the North side. You will have to pay some park fees, but the prices depend on many factors, such as whether or not you are a Tanzanian citizen, if you are going on a safari, if you are camping, or if you are climbing Mt. Meru. Do your research ahead of time to anticipate the costs.

There are many different species of wildlife to photograph, and there are several main attractions to visit as well.

Attractions:

  • Fig Tree Arch
  • Lake Longil
    • The only freshwater lake in Arusha National Park.
    • Popular watering hole for buffaloes and water bucks.
  • Meru Crater
  • Momela Lakes
    • Series of 7 shallow lakes.
  • Mt. Meru (14,990 ft.)
    • The fifth highest mountain in Africa.
    • Active volcano.
  • Ngurdoto Crater
  • Ngurdoto Museum
  • Tululusia Hill

My first safari!
I went on a one-day driving safari. The ride was bumpy, but it was worth it to see all of those cool monkeys.
