An easy hike filled with photo opportunities in a frozen, snow-covered landscape.
Located just outside the town of Kiruna in Swedish Lapland, the Midnattsolstigen Park is worth exploring in the depths of winter. Temperatures can get down to -30 degrees but if you rug up it's worth wandering through this incredible landscape of extreme wintry conditions. Trees are frozen solid with branches covered in inches of snow and intricate patterns carved by the harsh winter. It might sound crazy to venture out late at night into a forest but Kiruna and neighbouring Abisko National Park are known as the best places to see the magical northern lights. A mere ten minute walk from your cabin or apartment in town you'll be able to witness the green waves of aurora dancing across the sky!
