About this place

Added by Alyssa Lewis

In the heart of the capital of South Carolina stands the gorgeous state house. Not only is the architecture of this building absolutely stunning, but the grounds were built to match.

The South Carolina State House was built in 1855 and it's architecture proves that. From the gorgeous stone columns to the copper roof, this structure is picture perfect. The state house is in the middle of 11 acres of gorgeous scenery. Benches, statues, large trees and all sorts of plant life sprawl throughout this area. You are allowed on the state house grounds 24/7, but the best time to take pictures is between 9AM-11AM because there are less people on the grounds plus the sun is directly behind the state house providing the perfect lighting.
