About this place

Added by Alyssa Lewis

This is a small park tucked away in a busy area. The dam that serves as a waterfall in the beginning is beautiful, but the real beauty is the path that is somewhat hidden in the very back of the park.

I started exploring this park when I was about 14 years old. My mom was a huge fan of the park and took us to it as kids. However, I did not realize that there was a path until I was roughly 20 years old. That path is beautiful. It is a paved loop that covers about 0.4 miles. There are smaller paths that break off of it that lead you to the pond.

The pond itself is a wonderful place to kayak (no motor engines allowed) and fish! You can see the fish through the water during the summer. Also, you can hike down to the dam that serves as a waterfall and sit on the rocks that are at the base of the waterfall.

Finally, there is a pier that leads right into the middle of the pond. During the morning, it is great to sit there and watch the sun rise (also done yoga on the pier; wonderful). This park is a beautifully maintained and relaxing area to spend your spare time! Also, the park entrance is free and there is ample parking.

Hold Off For Now
Absolutely gorgeous area when the pond isn't under construction! Hold off for a couple months while it is being repaired! (Will update )

Being repaired sometime...
This is a great little park in the Lexington area, especially for families and picnics. I've enjoyed kayaking on the pond and taking photos. ...

Serenity
Gibson Pond Park is all this review says! Peaceful, duck-filled & serene. Can't wait to see the rebuilding after our state's awful flooding.
