Located directly in the heart of South Carolina's capital, the Riverfront Park provides a secret getaway from the busy city life. Whether you will be biking, walking or hiking you will escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city and enjoy the beauty of nature.
This park is located alongside of the Columbia Water Treatment Facility. You are able to walk on the paved path that has mile markers every 1/4 of a mile. Or, you can hike along one of the nature trails placed throughout the park that run right alongside the river. Bikes are allowed anywhere along any of the trails. Your dog can join you as well (there is a dog park located at the beginning of the park). Also, fishing is allowed as long as you have your state fishing license. Riverfront Park is also a great spot for some awesome photography. Whether you're taking pictures of the scenery or using the old mill as a backdrop for portraits, it's a great photography location. Finally, there are several lookout areas that face the river. Many of these lookouts have benches and picnic tables to sit at and enjoy the river.
