About this place

Added by Mitchell McKenzie

The hike to Yellow Branch Falls is a beautiful hike through the forrest that leads to a 50 ft. cascade waterfall on Yellow Branch Creek with tons of space to hang out, and enjoy the view.

Once you have turned into the picnic area off of Highway SC 28, you will see the open and easy parking area. The trail begins at 2 points on the southern end of the parking area. These 2 points form a small loop about 0.2 miles long, with a spur in the middle of the loop onto the main yellow branch trail. If you start at the end closest to the Highway you turn left off of the loop onto Yellow Branch trail, and if you start at the end furthest from the Highway you turn right onto Yellow Branch Trail.

Once on the Yellow Branch Trail you hike for about 1.3 miles. Some of the trail follows strait along the side of Yellow Branch creek and other pieces move out into the forrest. Once you reach the falls there is plenty of space to hang out with a group and enjoy the view, maybe even eat some lunch. For the more brave of the group, on the right side of the falls there is a steep trail up to the upper part of the falls. Once up there you can check out the creek above the falls. Only go up that trail with extra caution.

Overall this is an easy hike of a trail, and is great for both new and experienced hikers because the 50 ft. waterfall is beautiful and worth the time.
