About this place

Added by Griffin Moon

Spectacular city views. Get your amazing shot of the at sunrise or sunset Golden Gate. Hang out with the famous Karl the Fog and hike around.

The headlands offer great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, particularly at Vista Golden Gate. You can make the Vista Viewpoint your starting off point to leave your car or if you're riding, just stop in and enjoy the view. This spot allows you to capture views of the Golden Gate as well as Angel Islands, and the East Bay. There are 4 designated viewpoints along Conzelman Rd on the way up to Hawk Hill.

If you want to get other great viewpoints, I recommend Battery Spencer and Hawk Hill. Hawk Hill provides you with stunning views as the sun rises in the East Bay and the rays pierce through the Golden Gate. At Hawk Hill, you can either casually drive up to the parking area or stretch your legs and hike up the hill to the highest viewpoint.

Battery Spencer is a little more trafficked especially during the summer months. This spot has an overlook next to the parking lot as well as a couple benches if you want to relax and take in the view. To get to Battery Spencer, you can try to snag one of the limited parking spaces or just take a quick hike. Also, if you head past Battery Spencer, you'll find more accessible overlooks, which also have parking spots and benches.
