Amazing hike among old redwoods to an observation deck - the tallest lookout in the entire park.
The trail starts at the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park Visitors Center. Grab a map in the center, as your hike has you turning onto a few different trails to get to the observation deck.
Starting at the Redwood Grove Loop Trail, follow the trail until it connects with the Pipeline Road Trail and continue on Pipeline Road. Wandering amongst stunning redwoods, you will eventually cross over the Eagle Creek Trail and stay on Pipeline Road. Continue on Pipeline until making a Left on Powder Mill Rd. Continue on Powder Mill until connecting with Pine Trail and taking a left onto Pine Trail, which will take you to your desired destination of the Observation Deck. If you're solo, a hammock and book are a great idea. With a group, there are great little spots for picnics, etc.
After the observation deck, you'll join Eagle Creek Trail to take you back toward Pipeline Road. This section is singletrack, so be aware of mountain bikers who are often taking advantage of the excellent trails out here. Once back on Pipeline, retrace your steps to the Redwood Grove Loop and either continue the the loop to the parking area or head back the same way you came when you first hiked through the Redwood Grove.
