About this place

Added by John Maurizi

Taber Nature Trail is a nice little trail through a small grove of old growth Redwoods. Easy access and a nice break when driving north on 101.

Signs at the trail head for the Taber Trail state it is 1.1 miles long. That is much shorter than the actual 1.8 miles my GPS put it at. The trail sign also claims it is wheelchair accessible. I can see that for a little ways but as the trail begins to climb, I think this would be a tough go.  The trail is an out and back hike but loops through some old growth Redwoods at the end. I enjoyed this short hike. It was a nice to break up my drive back down the coast and stretch my legs.

The trail head is across the street from the park entrance, behind an out of business gas station about 1.5 miles north of Leggett, CA on Highway 101.
