About this place

Added by Lucas Pols

Easy and pleasant hike showing off the beauty of the old growth Redwoods in Big Basin State Park.

Quick half-mile stroll through the old growth Redwoods that will show you the nature of the ever-living redwood tree.

Redwoods are capable of withstanding storms, floods, fire, droughts, and even termites. These legendary trees can live for over 2,000 years and possess incredible strength, vigor, and regenerative powers.

The Mother of the Forest is located on this trek and has a circumference of 70 feet at the ground with a historic height of 329 feet!

Good look trying to capture them in one photograph!

Beautiful Hiking Trails
I love hiking around Big Basin Redwoods. The trees are huge, there is always shade, and the temps are great year round. ...
