Sky Campground via Sky Trail in Point Reyes National Seashore, California is home to the opportunity of exploring the Ocean as well as a giant coastal environment.
Entering Point Reyes National Seashore from Bear Valley Road the Sky Trailhead is a 4.9 mile drive. Camping in Sky Camp requires a Camping Permit.
Once at the Sky Trailhead parking lot. The Sky Trailhead will be on the left side pulling in. The hike is not very strenuous and not all that long. Once at Sky Camp, There are views of the Pacific Ocean. Relax and play some card games at night or tell stories. Admire the beauty of Nature.
Sky Camp has a picnic table and bear Locker in every campsite. There is a bathroom right before you head right and up into Sky Camp off the on the main trail. About 100ft from the bathroom is a spigot with potable water. There are no fire rings and camp fires are prohibited. There is a 4 mile trail form Sky Camp to the beach.
Camping Permits
You can get one at Recreation.Gov or reserveamerica.com. Getting a Permit in person at a visitors center in Point Reyes National Seashore is an option as well.
