With 600,000 acres of land to explore, Anza-Borrego State Park will keep you coming back for more. The park has activities for everybody, including star-gazing, hiking, camping, off-roading and more! Fonts Point is a great way to witness the beauty of desert parks.
The best time to go to Fonts point is right before the sun sets. It is located in the desert, so be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket or two.
In order to get to Fonts Point, you'll have to drive through roughly 4 miles of sand and rocks (8-miles roundtrip). 4x4 is strongly recommended, but keep an eye on road conditions. Alternatively, you could hike out and back. NOTE: only street-legal vehicles are permitted.
To get to the scenic view from Borrego Springs, hop on the Borrego-Salton Seaway (S22) and drive east for about 15 miles. The entry point is easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled for any dirt trails of the main road. If you're coming from town, the road entry labeled "Fonts Point" will be on your right. The trail is very wide throughout most of the drive, but be careful around those blind curves! You'll stick to the main trail for the majority of the drive. There is only one fork: left takes you to Short Wash, right takes you to Fonts Point. Stick to the right and continue until you reach the end of the trail (it's about 8 miles roundtrip).
Dogs are not permitted on this trail.
