About this place

Added by Outbound

The Bayside Trail is a 2 mile hike in San Diego that explores a historic site - perfect for families and easily accessible for all skill levels.

The Bayside Trail features beautiful spring wild flowers and is accessible year-round. The trail is wide with a few rest stops and benches along the way. The trail is breezy, much cooler than many trails inland, featuring ocean views throughout the duration.

This monument commemorates the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542. The monument includes a statue of Cabrillo and 20th-century coastal artillery batteries built to protect the harbor of San Diego from enemy warships. Take a rest stop at one of the benches and watch jets take off from the naval base in Coronado, watch ship traffic come in and out of the bay, and soak in the incredible view of San Diego.

Relaxing and picturesque
Nice relaxing walk. Use restroom before you venture. You can watch sea craft sailing past and see downtown San Diego across bay. Very nice ...
