Watch This Video to Witness the Wild Beauty of Peru's Cordillera Blanca Trek

This is a top five trek for me...maybe even my favorite.

Maybe it's because I just didn't know what to expect. There was little photography that I saw that truly gave me a perspective as to what I would see. Maybe my expectations were low, but I have to say the Cordillera Blanca in Peru absolutely stunned me with it's scenic beauty, remoteness and rawness. When I say scenic, I am not just talking about the awe-inducing peaks at 19,000-20,000 feet that abound throughout the trek. The valleys, too, where we often camped, were isolated, pristine, remote and stunning. I am talking about valleys a mile across and five miles long with maybe one or two families. While its neighbor, the Santa Cruz trek, has a ton of hikers, I found the Cordillera Blanca empty. There was only one other group of trekkers we saw. Only twice did we shared camp areas with them. A far cry from the Tour du Mont Blanc, the W Trek in Torres del Paine or certainly Everest Base Camp (all of which I have done). Because of everything I just said, I have to say this trek is in my top five and perhaps my favorite. Watch the video to see what I mean. Enjoy.
