About this place

Added by Shawn Grenninger

Paddle 12.4 miles of scenic Pine Creek and pull your boats up to Hotel Manor for a beer and sandwich.  Take your fishing rod and camera and watch for Bald Eagles.

The start of this trip is at the Blackwell boat launch.  Get some friends together and organize a trip, leave a car at Black Walnut Bottom for the take out.

Pine Creek can be very low in summer, check this water gauge, I recommend a minimum level of 1.8 feet.  Optimal would be 2.5-3.5 feet.  If you run it at lower levels, prepare to have to get out at some points to walk the boat.

This is a relatively calm section of creek that gives you the opportunity to hit some small rapids or skirt around them in your prefer to avoid getting wet.  There are many places to stop along the way to hang out or do some fishing.

Make sure to pull you boats up at Hotel Manor and enjoy a beer and sandwich on their deck overlooking Pine Creek.

Black Walnut Bottom is the take out and also a great camping option with primitive sites and a pit toliet.  There are many access points throughout this trip and further down Pine Creek to tailor the trip to your needs or to see other sections of the creek.
