About this place

Added by Brett Rothmeyer

Easy to moderate hike to a great view in the Laurel Highlands. Great day trip or family outing.

You'll find the trailhead for Wolf Rocks at top of Linn Run Rd off Laurel Summit Rd. Off the left-hand side you will find what is referred to as parking lot D - the route to Wolf Rocks begins there.

The hike is nothing to write home about, though with only a 5 mile total for the out-and-back it's a nice hike for kids, or a bonus loop if you hiked up from Linn Run trails.

The real attraction to Wolf Rocks is the stunning view that can be seen at the end of the trail. If fall foliage is your thing than this is your spot in late October to early November, depending on when old man winter decides to show up.

The rocks themselves provide a great spot to hang out and a have picnic or snack, but also be cautious in warmer months for the rocks are known to host quite a few rattlesnake dens.

One and done
This is a nice hike to do if you live near the area. It took my husband and I about two hours to hike.

Nice views
Easy trail with nice views. I don't think I'd do it again, however. One and done for me!

Tough Hike, Great View
The hike is mostly flat, but really rocky, so wear some appropriate shoes. The rocks and the corresponding view are great. Pack a lunch ...
