This is a beautiful hike in Milford, PA that follows the edge of a cliff, providing spectacular views of the Delaware River winding through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Not to mention, a stellar view of the sunrise if you get there early!
This 6.4 mile out-and-back trail (2.7 miles each way) is an excellent trail for those looking to spend an early morning or afternoon outside without the strenuousness of all-out mountain hiking. Throughout the entire hike, there is only 700 ft. of elevation gain. Don't let this turn you away if you are looking for spectacular views. Cliff Park Trail starts at the top of a ridge several hundred feet in the air. You can clearly see across the Delaware River to the East into New Jersey where you can spot the High Point Monument, and to the South the winding river flows through the valley. For the hike itself, it is relatively flat and straight with a generously wide trail that is clear of brush and debris and is also dog-friendly. This is an excellent hike for any age or skill level. Also, Milford has much to offer, from cozy cafes to grab a cup of coffee to excellent restaurants to visit for lunch.
