Swim at Playa Boca del Drago

Boca del Drago is one of the best beaches on the island, though the surf can be rough at times. This beach is on the Northern end of the island so its not as protected from the large swells in the open ocean. Just offshore from the beach is a patchy coral and sand sea bottom that offers good snorkeling when the sea is calm and the water clear. There is also a nearby restaurant and snack bar so be sure to grab a drink or a bite to eat after spending your time relaxing on the beach.

There are several ways to get to Playa Bocas del Drago. If you are in good shape, you can rent a bike in town for around $7-$10 per day and bike to the beach.  This is roughly an 11 mile ride with several hills. If riding a bike isn't for you, you can also take a bus or taxi from Bocas Town.  Another option is by boat. There are many boat taxi services or tour operators around town that can arrange a boat for you. By going through a tour operator you can bundle this with several other attractions such as Bird Island or Starfish Beach for a full day adventure.
