This relaxing swimming hole is a stunning spot to spend a lazy afternoon.
Starting from the Kalu Yala base camp, you go right out of the main gate. This road goes immediately downhill. Once you hit the Pacora River, stay on the near side, continuing on the road to the right. Walk past the gate of Parque Pacora. Once you hit the river, cross over it on foot. It is easiest if you stick to the left. Once to the other side of the river, you follow the main trail another 2km. There are various swimming holes along this road, but the "Boys Pool" is noted by having an entrance road that cuts back toward you on your right. This entrance will take you a few meters downhill before arriving at a great spot to stash your backpacks and hop in the water.
The rock on the far side of the swimming hole is amazing for warm naps and post-swim relaxing. If you want to be a bit more adventurous, grab googles and dive to swim with the fish in the area. You can also wander up river to the cascades, where endless wildlife can be found.
A super easy hike to the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon.
