About this place

Enjoy views of Mt. Bachelor, the South Sister and Broken top. Double check the snowshoe map in Nordic Lodge before heading out.

It’s so peaceful to be out snowshoeing through the Cascade Mountains. There are views of Mt. Bachelor, the South Sister and Broken Top on a clear day. Also, feeding the birds at the end is really fun!

The trail is a little over 6 miles round trip (it's a loop if you go around the lake at the end) and is pretty beginner in terms of snowshoeing since there’s not a huge elevation gain.

In the winter you won’t need to pay for parking but if you do go up to Todd Lake in the summer, bring your NW Forest Pass!

Getting there: From Bend take Century Drive and follow the signs for Mt. Bachelor. In the winter Cascade Lakes Highway is closed and you’ll have to park in the parking lot for Mt. Bachelor. The hike starts at the Nordic Lodge and you will take the corridor out to the forest. There is a map in the Nordic Lodge so make sure you take a look at that before beginning the trek to Todd Lake. There will also be signs along the trail so look out for those!

Enjoyable
This is an enjoyable snowshoe on Mt. Bachelor. The Nordic Lodge was helpful with providing a map and pointing me in the right direction.

Did this on cross country skis (also camped here in the summer - less than a mile hike when the snow melts). On skis, ...
